🔴 On 26 March 2026, Mr. Sami Nagga, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia 🇹🇳 to Romania 🇷🇴, held a meeting with Mr. Mihai Chirica, Mayor of the city of Iași, in the presence of Mr. Marouane Ben Nasr, in charge of cooperation with Romania.
✅ The meeting focused on exploring ways to strengthen decentralized cooperation across several key sectors, notably economic, trade, agricultural, investment, cultural, and medical fields.
✅ In this context, both parties emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts to establish a partnership between the city of Iași and a Tunisian counterpart, as well as to enhance the presence of Tunisian exports in the Romanian market, particularly in the agri-food sector and olive oil.
✅ The discussion also addressed the situation of the Tunisian community residing in Iași, largely composed of students. The efforts made by the local Authorities to support them and facilitate their integration were warmly acknowledged.
